Hetflix Binge Watching Template
I was so inspired by the idea of "binge watching" lessons using a common platform we are all familiar with - Netflix! So I customized a Google Slides Template from John Meehan's website to transform his "EDFLIX" idea for delivering content to Hetflix! I exported his slides into PowerPoint and opened them up in Keynote to get into my comfort zone. Next, I made my own Netflix logo at https://fontmeme.com/netflix-font/. For more inspirational ideas, you can connect with John on Twitter @MeehanEDU or at https://edrenalinerush.com. Worth your time!!
I could not ignore the Bitmoji Classroom craze any longer! However, I didn't need a "classroom;" instead, I needed a place to house my word wall and reference materials. Had this been a normal year, I had planned to rename my word wall to a "Math Expresso Bar." (Expresso ... Expressions... get it?) So I decided to take my Bitmoji to the coffee shop. I used Keynote instead of Google Slides and plan to export it as a PDF. This way the links still work and it can be sent to any child on any platform. If you are interested in the word wall materials themselves, please visit teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Scaffolded-Math-And-Science. If you just want the Keynote inspiration, please download the file below and enjoy your cup of joe on me!
Digital Student Planners
I used Keynote to customize student planners for this upcoming school year. I used the templates provided by Sam JK Neal. She used Pages but my go to app is Keynote so I adapted her amazing resource to meet my needs and comfort zone. You can connect with Sam on Twitter @samjkneal or Instagram @samjkneal. Additionally, her website is bulbapp.com/samjkneal.
Gamification - The Game of Clue
Using Keynote, I took one of my family's favorite games and modified it to be student and classroom friendly. The classic murder mystery becomes a case of Missing AirPods! The gamified idea was inspired by John Meehan, who inspires teachers to make every class not only a place to learn but also memorable and fun. In this Clue version, I will be using clue cards to reward students for work while making the challenge of solving the case fun for everyone! Please feel free to download the Keynote template below and check out the presenter notes for some additional details.
Virtual Meet the Teacher Template
Please feel free to download my welcome message slide show to customize this year! I have place holders for you to include a video and a photo of yourself but you can make those placeholders whatever you'd like - bitmoji, GIFs, etc. I recommend saving the file as a PDF when you are done making it your own so you can add it to your website, email it to parents, or post it in Google Classroom. Have fun getting creative!
